IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MANY KNOWN CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS
Hair loss does not descriminate by age, gender, race, or nationality. Men and women are equally affected both physically and psychologically from the traumatic experience of losing one's hair. Hair plays a significant role in our life
Hair is one of the first characteristics we notice upon meeting someone, and in our society a full head of hair is a representation of youth and vitality.
Hair loss, especially when severe, often affects the lives of those afflicted. Severe thinning evokes not only cosmetic concerns, but can instill feelings of vulnerability, loss of self-esteem, and project alterations in ones self-image.
Hair loss in both men and women can be attributed to a variety of factors including: genetics, alopecia, hormonal changes, accidents, and medical treatments to name a few.

Five Ways
1) Accept your loss.
2) Speak to a qualified professional. Theywill have the knowledge to guide you to the right solution.
3) Make an educated decision.
4) Make an appointment - Afterwards you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
5) Begin living life to the fullest.
It's All About You
Remember
It is all about you, your life, your well being.
THINNING HAIR - MEN
"...while at parties, I was so self-conscious of my thinning hair, I found myself gravitating toward a corner of the room. I found it nearly impossible to fit in. I looked different."
95% of thinning hair in men is caused by Androgenetic Alopecia, resulting in a receding and thinning of the hair at the crown of the head. This leaves a bald crown and a horseshoe-like pattern of hair around the sides and back of the head. Anrrogenetic Alopecia is influenced by three factors: age, a genetic tendency towards baldness, and an over-abundance of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the hair follicle cause it to malfunction, and decrease the growth phase of the hair. Because of this, the growth phase becomes shorter and shorter, and the hair does not have the ablilty to grow to its full length.
THINNING HAIR - WOMEN
"...hair loss in men is something that is taken for granted; men age and lose their hair. But for women, this is devastating! I tried everything to hide my hair loss. While my friends tell me not to worry, that it doesn't matter. I tell them it does matter. I don't feel attractive to men, much less to myself."
Thinning hair in women usually begins around 30, becoming more noticeablearound 40, and may possibly accelerate after menopaause. Female hair loss usually incorporates and overall thinning - two where five used to be - rather than a concentrated area of loss to the head, though women may also have a receding hairline. Approximately 30 million American women suffer from the affects of hair loss. As in males pattern baldness, the hair follicles simply shut down, with hormones playing some role in the process. High levels of DHT in the hair follicles cause it to malfunction in women as well.
